VSA 2018 Annual Congress

Please join us in Wellington for the 2018 VSA Congress on Saturday 3 November.
The theme for this year’s Congress is
“Pawa Meri: Strong Women”

We are pleased to be joined by Helen Hakena, co-founder and CEO of Leitana Nehan Women’s Development Agency (LNWDA), a partner organisation VSA has been working with since 2007. Helen and current VSA Volunteer Christine Ramsay will speak about Christine’s assignment, and what impact has been made as a result of LNWDA and VSA working together.

Conor Twyford, General Manager at HELP Wellington, chairs a panel discussion with Helen and VSA returned volunteers as well as New Zealand-based organisations, will talk about the work being done across the Pacific and New Zealand in the gender-based violence space.

As well as these interesting discussions, in this first year of a new five-year Government Funding Agreement, we also have Jonathan Kings (Deputy Secretary, Pacific and Development Group at MFAT) to talk about the Government’s “Pacific Reset”, and VSA Chief Executive, Stephen Goodman, to discuss how the new GFA enables VSA to respond to support this.
