Don’t miss this day trip from the Gold Coast to Byron Bay is one of the most rewarding short escapes in southeast Queensland. The drive itself is part of the experience, covering roughly 90–100 km and taking about 1 to 1.5 hours via the Pacific Motorway.

As you head south, the scenery gradually shifts from the urban stretches of the Gold Coast to a more relaxed coastal and hinterland landscape. Rolling green hills, pockets of rainforest, and glimpses of the ocean set the tone for the laid-back vibe that defines Byron Bay.

The Farm Byron Bay

Relax over lunch in a rustic farm setting, with paddocks, gardens and local produce.

Once we arrive, you can start your morning heading up to the iconic Cape Byron Lighthouse, the easternmost point of mainland Australia, where sweeping ocean views are often accompanied by dolphins or even whales during migration season. Afterwards we will have time to stroll Main Beach and the local the Village of Byron.

In the afternoon we make our way to The Farm Byron Bay, located just outside the town centre. This popular spot is more than just a place to eat—it’s a working farm built around a “grow, feed, educate” philosophy, giving visitors a paddock-to-plate experience . The relaxed, rustic setting makes it ideal for a long lunch. You can enjoy fresh, locally sourced dishes, wander through the gardens, or simply soak in the peaceful atmosphere among farm animals and open fields before we head back to the Gold Coast late afternoon.

Overall, this day trip combines natural beauty, great food and a relaxed coastal atmosphere.
