VSA Congress 2019

Please join us in Wellington for the VSA Congress 2019 on Saturday 9 November.
The theme for this year's Congress is Fetakinima 'i he sipoti: holding one another’s hands through sport”- Sport in Development

This year, VSA is celebrating the success of achieving development through involvement with Sport.

We are pleased to be joined by Tavake Fangupo, NRL’s Manager of Game Development in Tonga. Tavake and the NRL worked with VSA Volunteer Marg Armstrong through the Mai e Nima programme to deliver a healthy lifestyles programme into Tonga’s schools.

We have organised a panel conversation featuring Andre Whittaker (UNICEF), Tavake, and Dr Rochelle Stewart-Withers (Senior Lecturer at Massey University). The panel will cover aspects around gender and youth involvement in sports for development, and how sustainable livelihoods can be built and achieved hand in hand with sport.

In addition, we have the launch of VSA’s “Theory of Change” as well as our 2019 AGM for VSA’s members.

We hope you’ll enjoy our programme this year!
