Things to Know

Costs to attend the roadshow

There is no registration cost to attend the roadshow.

You can claim to be reimbursed for mileage, and teacher release time is available for U1-U3 schools. Please contact tepoutahu.engagement@education.govt.nz for more information.

Accommodation costs will need to be covered by participants.

Who can attend the roadshow

For the Curriculum Roadshow for Leaders, up to two education leaders (Years 0-8) from each school or kura can attend the in-person events, this helps us manage venue capacity and cost constraints across all four events. The sessions will be held in Christchurch, Lower Hutt, Auckland and Rotorua.

There is no limit on online event attendance for eligible leaders and attendees will be watching the live event. Online attendees are welcome to join any of the four sessions, regardless of location.

Education leaders are defined as:

• Principal – Tumuaki
• Deputy Principal - Tumuaki Tuarua
• Assistant/Associate Principal – Pou Āwhina
• Syndicate/Team leader – Pou Ārahi
• School Board Presiding Member - Mema o te Poari Kura
• Curriculum Leaders

For those leaders in secondary schools, a Curriculum Roadshow for Years 9-13 is being planned for the beginning of 2026.

Photography and livestreaming

A photographer may be present at one or more of the roadshow events, capturing moments such as attendees networking, engaging in discussions, or listening to speakers. In addition, all sessions will be livestreamed, and your image may be captured as part of that coverage.

Images and recordings may be used by the Ministry in communications about the event including, but not limited to, the Ministry’s website, newsletters, and social media channels. They will not be used for any other purpose.

If you do not wish to be photographed or recorded, you are welcome to register for one of the online events, where your image will not be captured.
